RIGHTS AND REPRODUCTIONS
Here you will find information on how to request permission to:
- use and reproduce images from our collections;
- take pictures or make videos of our collections.
Please send your request at least 30 days in advance to: sma.patrimonio@unibo.it.
Requests sent to any other email address cannot unfortunately be considered.
IMAGE REQUESTS
We license images from our collections. You are welcome to use our images free of charge for research or teaching purposes with prior permission. We will also consider requests for commercial use of our images. Commercial use may be permitted by paying a fee, as imposed by the Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code (Legislative Decree 42/2004, article 108).
FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
You are free to make videos or take pictures of our collections for your own personal enjoyment. However, if your photos or videos are not intended for private use you need to request our authorization and conform to our regulations. You will have to send us a high definition copy of your pictures and videos, together with the consent form for their use.
If filming and photography imply the occupation of public property, please note that we normally apply a charge − apart for certain cases.
LOANS
The Museums and Collections of the University of Bologna welcome requests to lend items to exhibitions or events. Loan requests should be made by formal letters printed on head paper. They should include a description of the event/exhibition, a detailed facilities report and the name of the person in charge for the preservation of the artworks loaned by the University Museum Network (SMA).
The borrower should cover insurance costs under an all-risk wall-to-wall policy for the duration of the loan.
Loan requests must be authorized by the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage (MiBACT), so please make sure you fill in and send us all the necessary documents at least 4 months prior to your event.
