The University of Bologna preserves a huge historical-artistic and scientific heritage, partly accumulated by its researchers, partly received as a donation. Some of the most precious objects date back to the Renaissance and are now on display after careful restoration and research. The first one, the portrait of Giovanni II Bentivoglio, is, from June 2018, in permanent exhibition at the Palazzo Poggi Museum; the others, two tapestries from Brussels displayed on a temporary basis, testify an extraordinary story connecting a sophisticated manufacture, the fortunate American adventure of an Italian emigrant and the Italy of Reconstruction.
