Giacomo Ciamician Chemistry Collection


The Chemistry Collection displays a series of scientific and didactic instruments which are evidence of the evolution of the study of Chemistry in Bologna since the end of the 19th century. Period furniture recreates the atmosphere of the first chemical laboratories of the period. Colorimeters, photometers, galvanometers and much more: discover the world of chemistry!

Opening hours


All our Museums and Collections continue to be closed to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. All public programs, events, and tours are canceled.


Free admission from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 7pm when the Department of Chemistry is open. Artifacts are displayed in the cabinets along the corridors of the Department.
